How to Boost Your Energy As a Stay at Home Mom?

Mothers are unrivaled in their ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time. Taking care of chores, children, and everything in between can be exhausting, and you may run out of energy quickly. As a mother, you need to replenish your energy back because your family needs you. Here are some tips on how to boost your energy. Read how to bounce back from exhaustion and stay comfortable:

1. Get a Complete Sleep

Motherly duties require time and hard work to be fulfilled. Sometimes, you may go to sleep late and wake up early for another day of work. Despite this, you should aim to get enough sleep every night. Seven to eight hours at minimum is recommended.

Try to do this with your busy schedule by gradually adjusting your time in going to bed. You may add 15 to 20 minutes earlier every week, then another 15 to 20 minutes again the following week until you get a full night’s sleep.

2. Drink Water

Drinking coffee, tea, or caffeinated sodas can give you the jolt of energy that you need, but it only lasts for a few hours, and it dehydrates your body. You should drink plenty of water to hydrate your body and boost your energy up.

Just like sleep, you can gradually increase your water intake by adding eight to 12 ounces of water every day. It is also essential that you reduce your caffeine intake to make you feel better and replenished.


3. Watch Your Food Intake

When you’re tired, you become hungry and tend to eat more. Your body will look for heavy meals that are high in carbs, such as pasta, potatoes, and rice.

These foods will give you temporary energy, but you’ll soon feel tired, even after eating. Most nutritionists would recommend a balanced meal that contains protein, a small portion of carbohydrates, and more green vegetables.

It is also imperative that you start your day with a healthy breakfast to supply you with the energy you need. Try to limit sugary carbs intake such as cereals and replace them with eggs, oatmeal, and other foods containing protein. For the rest of the day, try to eat foods with protein to maintain and boost your energy.

4. Daily Exercise to Boost Your Energy

Your daily schedule might be too tight to squeeze in another activity, but you must add a regular exercise routine to your daily activities. A 30 to 45 minutes exercise is an effective way of keeping a healthy body with a strong immune system. You can also try shorter, 10 to 15 minutes workout plans if you need to go back to your errands right away.

If you are at work in the office, make sure that you find time to stand up and walk around to move your legs after several hours of sitting. It would be better to go up the stairs and climb a few levels in your home.


5. Take Your Vitamins

Vitamins and supplements can provide you with the nutrients lost from your exhaustion. However, before you order over-the-counter medications online, it would be best to consult your doctor for a proper prescription,  especially if you are already on medication.

Restoring your energy is essential in keeping a balanced lifestyle. Nobody can take away the responsibilities of a mother to her family even if they become exhausted.
