This day is celebrated to increase the awareness towards the education, care and other rights of children of our country. The great Indian leader, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday is celebrated as children’s day. He was our first Prime Minister after the independence of India in 1947. And he is also known by the name of Chacha Nehru as he was loved too much by all children. He worked very hard for the education, wellness, and rights of children as well as for youngsters of India.
Jawaharlal Nehru always had more faith in science than religion. According to him, a better society can only be built and changed through education. It is only education which can culturally improve a human being and help them to generate wealth in society. For the betterment of society, we need to educate each and every child who will be the future of our country. The teaching methodology should be practical and based on an individual’s interest. It would eradicate unemployment and poverty.
He had established national science laboratories and many educational institutions are named after him such as Jawaharlal Nehru University (or JNU) in New Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College (or JNEC) in Aurangabad, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Technology (or JNIT), Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Arts and Science (or JNIAS) and many more.
